Daniel Hartman specializes in media and technology law, with a particular focus on developing internet companies.  From angel investment to corporate formation to intellectual asset protection, Mr. Hartman advises startups and mature companies on strategic solutions to legal and business challenges.  Hartman has negotiated technology services contracts, co-marketing deals, and content licensing agreements with Fortune 500 companies of various industries, from top national banks to some of the web's biggest publishers.  His business development experience includes building affiliate marketing programs, monetizing aggregated data, and developing content syndication channels.  Mr. Hartman is also an experienced litigator and appellate advocate, who handles all aspects of various complex commercial litigation.

Bar Admissions 
Mr. Hartman is admitted to all of the state courts of California (2002) and Illinois (2006), as well as the U.S. District Court Central District of California (2003).
Mr. Hartman received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, with Honors and Special Honors in Plan II, where his senior thesis was distinguished by the Plan II Honors Program as a "Model Thesis."  He received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, where he took MBA courses in Corporate Finance, Accounting, and Business Economics, and authored the legal article "Sony to Napster: The Rise and Fall of the Home Taping Exemption." 

Community Service
Mr. Hartman is proud to serve as a Member of the Board of Directors of Goldie's Place, a non-profit organization that offers support services to homeless adults in Chicago, including employability training, job placement, and free dental care.  He previously provided pro bono legal services to the Community Economic Development Unit of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, and volunteered in the legal clinic of Washington Lawyers for the Arts.
